 General Summary of Position Under the supervision of the Spiritual Care Director the chaplain serves the spiritual religious and emotional needs of patients families and staff. Specifically the chaplain through professional training and certification assists patients their family members and staff to cope more effectively with life and/or end of life issues as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being. Within the context of the individual's life experience the chaplain may offer prayer or reflection. The position requires a graduate degree in divinity or related field ordination from an established religion. Primary Duties and Responsibilities <ul><li>Communicates with hospital staff regarding the ministry in the hospital. Collaborates with members of the hospital care team in identifying problems. With other Chaplains acts as a liaison between patient family and hospital staff during periods of crisis for example difficult surgery outcomes or patients in process of dying. </li><li>Contributes to the achievement of established goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations. </li><li>Ensures the pertinent information regarding faith denomination parish/congregation and date of anointing are properly entered into the computer. Ensures that documentation is performed in accordance with the policy and procedure of the individual hospital. </li><li>Evaluates patient needs for spiritual guidance and counseling and initiates or recommends individual programs and services to meet those needs. Essential Functions:

About You:
