Your Job Georgia Pacific's Packaging and Cellulose division is seeking a Process Control Engineer to join our Leaf River Team. This role will design, implement, support, and optimize process control systems used to meet manufacturing needs and production goals. The role requires hands-on technical skills with Honeywell DCS and Rockwell PLC systems, problem solving, project management abilities, and the flexibility to support production needs and shared on call responsibilities.Our Team The Leaf River Plant is part of the Cellulose® brand fluff manufacturing operation. Our technology is state of the art, and we will bring the best team together to deliver for our customers, Georgia-Pacific, and the Leaf River community.What You Will Do<ul><li> Diagnose process-control and equipment faults, determine root cause, and implement long-term corrective actions </li><li> Program, maintain, and tune DCS/PLC control loops; learn and apply new languages and loop dynamics </li><li> Implement and support DCS/PLC platforms and custom control applications in Microsoft environments </li><li> Evaluate process/equipment operation, drives, and system integration; read P&IDs, loop sheets, and electrical drawings </li><li> Support installation, construction checkout, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning for new control systems and instrumentation </li><li> Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, environmental, and engineering teams, work with urgency and customer focus </li><li> Share department on-call responsibilities </li></ul>Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)<ul><li> Previous process control experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment </li><li> Hands-on programming and hardware management experience with industrial process control platforms and networks (DCS/PLC) </li><li> Experience with APCs, VFD drives, Allen Bradley PLCs, Honeywell DCS platforms </li><li> Experience reading and working from P&IDs, loop sheets, and electrical drawings </li><li> Willingness to work varied schedules as needed (Day, Night, Weekends) to support production and share on-call responsibilities </li><li> Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship </li></ul>What Will Put You Ahead<ul><li> Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Control Engineering, or similar field </li><li> Experience supporting process control systems in Pulp & Paper, containerboard, or related mills </li><li> Experience with alarm management and rationalization practices </li><li> Experience with OT cybersecurity, network architecture, and industrial protocols </li></ul>At Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs. The Process Technical Services Manager will administer and coordinate the affairs of all of the disciplines of the department, including the QC Laboratory, Process Engineering, Process Controls, and IT groups to achieve overall departmental, facility, and corporate goals.
