As with many veterinary hospital roles, the work environment may include exposure to animals, animal waste, cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, medications, noise, odors, allergens, potential zoonotic diseases, animal bites and scratches, sharps, and other veterinary occupational hazards. Team members must be comfortable using computers and telephones for extended periods and communicating professionally with clients and coworkers in person and through phone, text, email, and other electronic systems.
