Recognizing that health depends upon an individuals economic, educational and employment status, FHCs Department of Community-Based Programs offers an extensive continuum of family strengthening and community development programs to address the broader needs of the community, including adult education; case management and supportive services; mental health services; early childhood centers; and community service opportunities. The network also includes 12 community medicine sites providing care to disenfranchised New Yorkers, comprehensive HIV services, chemical dependency programs, and a family support center that offers educational, vocational, and other social support programs.
