Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:** + Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team + Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise + Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others + Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables + Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects + Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package + Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings + Prepares technical specification sections + Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements + Perform civil design on a variety of rail/transit projects + Preparation of design documents + Develop specifications, cost estimates and project schedules + Prepare technical reports and analyses + Develops estimates for the track engineering budgets + Assists in determining schedules to perform track work + Coordinates with multiple departments related to a projects scope of work + Develop Procurement specifications + Perform field track inspections and develop criteria and testing requirements + Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large size projects + Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for specific area of expertise + Reviews and approves track designs prepared by others + Oversee and manage work within the ROW for multiple projects + Work with other track staff to manage projects on the east coast and around the country + Mentor staff **Qualifications** **Minimum Qualifications:** + BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or related +6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + Experience with commuter, shortline, freight, transit, and class-one rail projects **Preferred Qualifications:** + Professional Engineer (PE), MA License + Expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRail/Power Rail, Microstation + Knowledge of FRA, DOT, AREMA and local railroad/transit criteria + Strong analytical and communication skills + Good client relations experience + Ability to lead meetings related to track + Local to Massachusetts **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this role + Sponsorship is not for this role, now or in the future **About AECOM** AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
