The Nurse Supervisor performs supervisory functions for a Division or specialty nursing unit, providing oversight of all aspects of nursing services rendered to physically and mentally disabled persons to foster optimal health and is responsible for quality assurance audits, continuously monitoring the care provided on all shifts, identifying nursing training needs and developing approaches to solving problems, and communicates closely with the Division Director and Home Manager/QDDP’s in each home and with supervisors in other departments as the need arises, and may serve on task forces and committees as requested. It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.
