Act as an advocate for the patient/family through activities such as case conferences, case management by telephone or email while safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality + Perform complex clinical diagnostic eye imaging and procedures within scope of certification + Assist providers with ophthalmic imaging procedures such as flourescein angiography + Under physician direction, administer diagnostic eye drops, ophthalmic ointments, and ophthalmic irrigating solutions within scope of certification + Monitor and facilitate patient flow in the clinic and in the imaging rooms, working collaboratively with other clinical staff + Answer patient questions, address concerns, follow up on questions and/or refer patient questions to providers as appropriate **REQUIREMENTS** + Completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program AND 2 years minimum Ophthalmic Imaging experience + Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration + Current certification by NIH/NEI for clinical trial or be eligible for certification **ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER** As the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
