Follows process sheets for selecting and installing tooling, offsets, fixtures according to specifications to prepare machine for operation, use of engineering part drawings and process plans, performs first piece approval, uses precision measuring instruments to ensure machined items meet quality specifications, reports malfunctions of machining equipment and process deviations to appropriate personnel. Sets up and operates conventional and numerical control machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts by applying knowledge of machine shop theory, procedures, shop mathematics as assigned to produce high quality parts, enabling all production and scheduling needs to be met.
