Oklahoma Jobs: Overview
Oklahoma has a special relationship with Route 66. The infamous route from Chicago to Santa Monica has its longest span through Oklahoma, running almost dead-center through the state. Just for fun, we found several roadside attractions and museums to see when you’re driving Route 66 to interview for Oklahoma jobs.
The first is the Route 66 Museum itself in Clinton. You’ll find a massive collection of items found on “The Mother Road” through the years, along with road signs and other memorabilia. When you’re ready for a rest stop, Pops Soda Ranch in Arcadia will fill your tank and quench your thirst. You can’t miss the 66-foot soda bottle with color-changing LED lights. Inside is a collection of more than 12,000 soda bottles and 650 varieties of soda you can drink. Other iconic stops include the Seba Motorcycle Museum in Warwick and Totem Pole Park in Chelsea. You’ll also drive by a huge metal blue whale in Catoosa, a statue of Mickey Mantle, and Lucille’s Roadhouse, one of the original gas stations along the way that is now a diner.
If you stray from Route 66, you can see a bunch of other unique museums in Oklahoma that honor the American pigeon, action figures, windmills, skulls, and banjos. Oklahoma cities to visit for more attractions and jobs include Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Norman.
