Under direction, performs the full array of duties assigned to the Maintenance Worker class including a variety of skilled and semi-skilled journeyman level tasks in the maintenance and repair of all facets of public housing units and related facilities; performs a variety of facility and grounds maintenance, cleaning, building maintenance and repair for a variety of public housing facilities in multiple locations; communicates with the residents in determining the need for maintenance and to minimize future repairs; and performs related work as assigned. This is the journey or experienced level class in this series in which workers perform maintenance and repair assignments in a variety of crafts, including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, interior and exterior painting, basic electrical, tile repair, cement finishing, appliance repair and grounds maintenance.
