Learn to and assist with the repair, rebuild and replacement of mechanical equipment such as turbines, governing systems, pumps, compressors, oil pumps, large valves, and gates. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other employees and the public using principles of good customer service.

Enscicon is currently hiring for several local millwright apprentices for a long-term renewable energy project in Umatilla, OR (must reside within 60 miles). Enscicon's Millwright Apprenticeship program is a hybrid program and can be completed within a period of 2.5 to 4 years. Benefits include paid on-the-job training and tuition reimbursement. Classroom instruction can be completed remotely, and on your own timeline.  ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Learn to and assist with perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all types of mechanical equipment associated with hydroelectric plants.</li><li>Learn to read and understand necessary manuals, drawings, plans and specifications.</li><li>Learn to and assist with repair or replace turbine and generator mechanical parts (bearings, shaft lines, equipment etc).</li><li>Learn to and assist with performing general maintenance and construction duties.</li><li>Learn to and assist performing metal work, pipe work, routine welding, painting and concrete work.</li><li>Perform building maintenance and repair.</li><li>Take measurements and prepare job sketches.</li><li>In addition to the normal description of construction work for lifting, bending, working with the hands pulling.</li><li>Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other employees and the public using principles of good customer service.</li><li>Perform related duties as assigned.</li></ul>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Must be at least 18 years of age, except where a higher age is required by law.</li><li>Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Must have a valid United States governement-issued ID and pass E-Verify.</li><li>Must pass a seven-year criminal background check.</li><li>Must pass a five-panel pre-employment drug screening.</li></ul>REQUIRED ABILITIES:<ul><li>Actively respect and follow all safety instructions detailed in the site EHS plan and being proactive on all safety related topics at the work site.</li><li>Report any quality issues and non-conformities and ensuring the site quality plan is respected at every step of the work.</li><li>Learn to and assist with performing skilled duties involving machining, mechanical maintenance, welding, pipefitting and rigging.</li><li>Learn to and assist with the repair, rebuild and replacement of mechanical equipment such as turbines, governing systems, pumps, compressors, oil pumps, large valves, and gates.</li><li>Learn to and assist with the alignment of motors, pumps, shafts, and couplings.</li><li>Use a wide range of hand and power tools.</li><li>Learn to perform various types of welding (oxygen-acetylene, shielded metal-arc, TIG, MIG), cutting (oxygen-acetylene, carbon arc)- (not mandatory, and only once certified).</li><li>Read and understand manuals, drawings, plans and specifications.</li><li>Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.</li></ul>WORKING CONDITIONS:<ul><li>Work is carried out both inside and outside environment with exposure to various weather conditions.</li><li>Frequently twist to reach equipment and perform simple grasping and fine manipulation.</li><li>Frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand and walk.</li><li>Frequently push, pull, grasp and carry while walking.</li><li>Occasionally work on various types of terrain and footing which may be slippery.</li><li>Frequently lift up to 35 pounds.</li></ul>COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:<ul><li>Level 1 wage starting at $40/hour, with a progressively advancing wage scale. </li><li>Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits</li><li>401(k) </li><li>Paid Sick Leave</li><li>Paid On-The-Job Training</li><li>Tuition Reimbursement</li><li>Paid Safety Training</li><li>Clothing/PPE Stipend</li><li>Tooling Allowance</li></ul>Enscicon is an EOE including individuals with disabilities and veterans.

+ Perform a variety of concrete cutting and core drilling projects.

+ Maintain equipment and ensure that all tools are being used safely.
