Responsible for initiating and completing direct patient care to an assigned group of patients, i.e., giving bed baths, grooming, feeding, showering, transferring patient from bed to wheelchair or toilet, preparing and transporting patients to and from X-ray, obtaining vital signs. Performs functional duties, i.e., maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment for patient, does simple cleaning of showers, pantry, etc., puts call light within patient's reach, wipes up spills from floor when indicated, makes beds, etc.
