Working under the guidance of a Construction Design Team Lead, the Technician assists with drafting, redline implementation, quality checks, and project documentation. This role provides foundational exposure to the OSP design process, offering an opportunity to develop technical skills, gain familiarity with permitting and entity requirements, and grow into higher-level positions within the department.Responsibilities and Duties:<ul><li>Draft and update construction design drawings under direction of the Construction Design Team Lead.</li><li>Apply redlines and corrections from OSP field staff, Construction Design Supervisors and/or Construction Design Team Leads.</li><li>Assist with basic quality checks to ensure accuracy and standards are met.</li><li>Upload and maintain project files in all required platforms and systems.</li><li>Support project documentation and utilize trackers as assigned.</li><li>Communicate with team members for clarifications on design updates.</li><li>Participate in training and develop knowledge of OSP design processes and tools.</li></ul>Qualifications and Skills:<ul><li>Strong project management and organizational skills.</li><li>Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.</li><li>Experience with GIS tools preferred.</li><li>Ability to interpret constructive criticism and apply red line corrections accurately.</li><li>Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.</li></ul>Compensation and Benefits:This position offers competitive pay and an attractive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k), and more.About Vantage Point SolutionsVantage Point Solutions was founded in 2002 by a team who believed in putting people – both employees and clients – first. Mitchell Technical College (MTC) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Construction & Maintenance Instructor to join our team for the Fall 2026 semester. This full-time faculty position offers the rewarding opportunity to train the next generation of skilled electricians in a high-demand trade while working in a supportive, hands-on learning environment. Program Overview The Electrical Construction & Maintenance (ECM) program at Mitchell Technical College is an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree that provides comprehensive training in residential and commercial wiring, maintenance, and new construction. Students gain practical skills in electrical theory, conduit bending, National Electrical Code (NEC) application, blueprint reading, motor controls, programmable logic controllers (PLC), fiber optic and data cabling, estimating, and troubleshooting. The program combines classroom instruction with extensive hands-on laboratory experiences and prepares graduates for immediate employment as well as 2,000 hours toward South Dakota Journeyman Electrician certification. Minimum Qualifications <ul><li>Minimum of three (3) years or 6,000 hours of experience in the electrical field.</li><li>Journeyman Electrician license preferred.</li><li>Associate's degree preferred (or willingness to obtain one).</li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of electrical theory, principles, conduit bending, and the National Electrical Code (NEC).</li><li>Ability to pass a state and federal criminal background check.</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications <ul><li>Passion for teaching and training with a high level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.</li><li>Strong communication skills, adaptability to change, ability to work collaboratively in groups, and a customer-oriented mindset.</li><li>Prior teaching experience, evidence of effective instructional skills, and experience working with diverse populations.</li><li>Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.</li></ul>Key Responsibilities <ul><li>Teach assigned courses in the Electrical Construction & Maintenance program.</li><li>Assess student progress in classroom and laboratory settings.</li><li>Develop and update curriculum to meet current industry standards and workforce needs.</li><li>Assist with student recruiting, advising, and retention efforts.</li><li>Provide leadership in both academic and workforce development areas to fulfill the educational goals of the ECM program and Mitchell Technical College.</li></ul>What We Offer Mitchell Technical College offers a competitive compensation package, including: <ul><li>Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.</li><li>Paid time off.</li><li>Tuition assistance program.</li><li>Participation in the South Dakota Retirement System.</li></ul>Application Process The position is open until filled.
