Lastly, you will back up the judicial assistant by preparing files for pretrial review, preparing motions, orders, and judgments, managing the judge's docket and legal library, retrieving case law, assisting in case scheduling and tracking, and reviewing documents filed with the court for accuracy and completeness. For most of your day, you will prepare the assigned courtroom for the day's proceedings, swear in witnesses, mark and maintain exhibits, monitor proceedings and respond to security needs, maintain audio and electronic records, update the case management system, and facilitate remote hearings.
