CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Practice in Pulmonary Medicine and potentially Critical Care units by providing the day-to-day medical management and serving as the primary patient manager with responsibility for admissions; supervising plans of care; ordering treatments, tests, and medications; and developing discharge plans. Coordinate and participate in clinical research regarding such topics as cystic fibrosis, critical care physiology, ventilator management, sepsis, acute lung injury, and managing patient length of stay while providing cost effective and high-quality patient care or evaluating the utilization of resources.
