GNR has been retained to identify an ACCOUNTING MANAGER / CONTROLLER for a growing DEFENSE / MILITARY MANUFACTURING organization in the Melbourne, FL region. This company’s product portfolio is well-positioned and aggressively growing in very niche domestic & international markets.   We’re searching for a motivated self-starter for this fast-paced environment to manage day-to-day accounting needs and be accountable for monthly close-outs. <ul><li>You’ll have visibility, this is a “hands on & onsite” leadership position where you will lead a small accounting team and ensure accurate data and reporting.  </li><li>Collaborate with the executive staff on costs & inventory.</li><li>Ensure GAAP compliance and standards are met, update policies and procedures, prepare statements, verify & analyze data, and prepare for audits.</li></ul>  EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:<ul><li>BS/ MS degree w/ minimum of 5 years of Accounting experience with GAAP compliance & month-end closings. </li><li>Able to manage a small team responsible for typical accounting functions; general ledger and reconciliations for AR/AP, cost accounting, payroll, and inventory.</li><li>Experience with MANUFACTURING type COSTS – inventory, scrap, WIP, COGS, costs specific to a program</li><li>Experience leading a team, motivate + mentoring, good communications skills and ability to interact with Executive leadership</li><li>Aerospace / Defense / Gov’t accounting exp. is a plus (DCAA, DCMA, FMS, ITAR)</li><li>US Citizenship required</li></ul> OFFERING:  Attractive base salary + visibility & growth + sign-on relocation assistance (if needed)LOCATION:  Melbourne, FL region   << In office position >>

As we prepare to manage debt and equity transactions, we seek a seasoned Controller to join our team, with the potential to transition into a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role. Position Overview: The Controller will oversee all financial aspects of the company, ensuring robust financial reporting and operational efficiency. This role requires a leader who thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and has the vision to grow alongside the company. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the behavioral health industry and demonstrate expertise in both cash and accrual accounting, multi-company financial consolidation, and strategic financial planning. Responsibilities: <ul><li>Oversee and manage the preparation of cash and accrual-based financial statements. </li><li>Maintain and consolidate the general ledger for a multi-company structure under a parent holding company. </li><li>Book accrual revenue and manage billing, accounts receivable, and balance sheet reporting. </li><li>Drive financial planning, analysis, and forecasting for the company's debt and equity strategy. </li><li>Implement and optimize accounting software to handle multi-entity environments (Sage, QuickBooks, or equivalent). </li><li>Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices. </li><li>Provide insights and leadership on managing financial risks, including capital allocation and equity planning. </li><li>Collaborate closely with leadership to support growth strategies, including acquisitions and eventual exit plans. </li></ul>Requirements: <ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred). </li><li>5+ years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in the behavioral health or healthcare sector. </li><li>Proven experience with both cash and accrual-based accounting systems. </li><li>Proficiency in managing financial operations in multi-entity environments. </li><li>Familiarity with revenue recognition, billing processes, and balance sheet management. </li><li>Strong understanding of financial software systems (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar). </li><li>Exceptional organizational and communication skills. </li><li>Willingness to work in-office 4 days per week after the initial 5 days during onboarding and trust-building. </li></ul>Perks and Compensation: <ul><li>Competitive base salary </li><li>Equity participation possibility: 1% outstanding equity after 1 year with a 3-5 year vesting schedule. </li><li>Opportunity for significant capital gains payouts every 3-4 years. </li><li>Comprehensive healthcare plan. </li><li>Year-end performance bonus. </li></ul>Our Culture: We're a "conference table" company, valuing collaboration and face-to-face interactions. Job Functions & Responsibilities • Financial Planning Support: Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for key programs under the guidance of the Project Control Manager. • Data Entry & Reconciliation: Ensure accurate and timely entry of financial data related to revenue, costs, and billing in accordance with internal policies. • Variance Analysis: Support tracking of actuals against budgets and forecasts, assisting in identifying discrepancies and trends. • Project Tracking: Monitor the financial health of ongoing programs by updating dashboards and maintaining tracking tools. • Reporting Assistance: Assist in generating internal monthly financial reports and preparing documentation for external audits. • Learning Thales Finance Tools: Gain exposure to financial systems and tools used within Thales for project controlling and financial analysis. Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field with 1-4+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 0-2+ years of relevant experience. • Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail • Basic understanding of financial principles (budgeting, forecasting, P&L, etc.) • Proficient in Microsoft Excel • Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a structured, collaborative environment • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team Preferred Qualifications • Accounting and project control appetite • ERP System understanding • Strong skills in Office 365, especially in Excel • Familiarity with financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) is a plus but not required
