Demonstrates proficient technical skills and operational knowledge of all equipment used on the unit, including equipment used to stabilize and monitor patients (i.e., IV insertion, central lines, pulse ox, NG tubes, Foley, chest tubes, hemodynamics monitoring, etc. Ensures the provision of necessary and appropriate education to patients and their families from admission through discharge, covering medical and nursing plans of care, medications, tests and procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
