An Official Court Reporter's duties and conditions of employment are primarily determined by 28 U.S.C. Section 753 the Judicial Conference of the United States and the Court. In addition to a salary from the Court the Official Court Reporter receives payments from private parties who purchase transcripts of proceedings.
As a trained Court Reporter, you will use specialized equipment for creating and maintaining accurate, verbatim records of legal proceedings in courts, depositions, and other legal settings. Must provide all supplies necessary for accurate and complete reporting of a proceeding, including, but not limited to, sufficient audiotapes, tape recorders, microphones, extend cords and machinery.
