<p>Location: Position can be performed from any U.S. company office with opportunity for remote work.</p><p>The Instructional Designer supports the design and development of learning solutions that align to business goals and workforce performance needs. Working under the guidance of the Program Manager, this role contributes to the creation of engaging, high-quality learning experiences by translating defined learning objectives into effective instructional designs.</p><p>This role collaborates with Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Learning & Development Specialists across domestic and international teams to gather input, organize content, and structure learning solutions in a variety of formats, including eLearning, instructor-led training, and performance support materials for a global audience. The Instructional Designer participates in design sessions and working meetings to support alignment and ensure learning solutions meet program goals.</p><p>The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing key design deliverables such as storyboards, scripts, and content structures that enable efficient development. This role focuses on strong execution of instructional design work, while continuing to build capability in applying learning strategies and best practices.</p><p>Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Participate in design sessions, working meetings, and content workshops with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather input and clarify learning needs</li><li>Translate defined learning objectives and program goals into structured learning solutions, including eLearning, instructor-led training, and performance support materials (e.g., job aids, quick-reference guides)</li></ul><p>Support the selection of appropriate learning modalities in collaboration with the Program Manager based on audience needs and business context</p><ul><li>Design eLearning, ILT/vILT, and blended learning experiences aligned to established program direction</li></ul><p>Develop detailed design deliverables, including storyboards, scripts, and design specifications that support efficient development</p><ul><li>Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences</li><li>Collaborate with SMEs and internal partners to analyze and organize content into structured learning experiences</li><li>Provide input and guidance during development and review outputs to ensure alignment with design intent and quality standards Incorporate stakeholder and pilot feedback to refine and improve learning solutions</li><li>Prepare learning assets for LMS deployment, including exporting SCORM packages and coordinating with Technology and Knowledge Management teams</li><li>Ensure learning designs align with ACS University branding, standards, and user experience guidelines</li><li>Maintain organized design documentation, including storyboards, scripts, and version control</li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement of instructional design practices, templates, and standards</li><li>Support in-person design sessions and workshops at office or project sites as needed</li></ul>

This position requires a combination of technical knowledge and communication ability to effectively facilitate learning to various target audiences and respond to questions from employees, and clients.

<h5>Technical Training Specialist </h5><p>Conducts technical training courses for clients and/or employees in the use of complex systems for multiple products. Interacts with client and internal functional areas to develop specifications for content of courses. Works collaboratively with field SMEs,product engineers, technical support, manufacturing and instructional designers to ensure course curriculum is accurate. Works with instructional designer to develop lesson plans that integrates core content, real life scenarios, trouble-shooting/critical thinking skills, practical skills and field service requirements. Instructs participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory/practical sessions. Follows-up to determine applicability of course material. One of the primary focuses of this position will be delivering training to Customer Service Representatives on installation, maintenance and equipment repair of hardware and/or software products. </p><p>This position requires a combination of technical knowledge and communication ability to effectively facilitate learning to various target audiences and respond to questions from employees, and clients. Successful performance requires as strong working knowledge of their specific industry. </p><h5>Primary Responsibilities: </h5><ul><li>Strong organizational ability to plan and execute effectively deliver training to all levels in a variety of hardware and software products </li><li>Manage classroom time and audience participation appropriately. </li><li>Provide one-on-one coaching to training participants and their managers. </li><li>Work with Instructional Design team to create training materials including: facilitator and participant guides, learning activities, job aids and other learning tools as needed. </li><li>Customize training materials and tailor delivery techniques for varying audiences and needs. </li><li>Assist in design of computer-based and multimedia curriculum. </li><li>Continuously enhance technical instructional delivery and presentation skills. </li><li>Plan and direct classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, simulations and workshops </li><li>Evaluates performance during and after training by completing participant evaluations to enhance development plan and proficiency levels </li><li>Manage multiple training projects at the same time. </li><li>Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to create the appropriate content and context for learning. </li><li>Analyze content, target audience, job tasks and learner environments to make appropriate decisions on training approaches. </li><li>Ability to identify and provide follow-up and remedial training for Qualification programs </li><li>Experience in using Learning Management System s (LMS) to coordinate, track and report on employee training </li><li>Execute program measurements and strategy to evaluate the impact of training. </li><li>Audit classes and provide peer feedback to other instructors. </li><li>Mentor other instructors in the subject matter, content, and course delivery techniques for assigned technical courses. </li><li>Ensure the quality and consistency of course content throughout a course life cycle. </li><li>Identify and develop training materials; Pre-work, Trainer deck, participant guide, learning aids, quizzes, exams and hands on module </li></ul><p>Remote Position - Commutable to Danbury, CT preferred. Non-Commutable to Danbury - 75% Travel </p><h5>Knowledge, Skills, and Other Requirements </h5><ul><li>Experience in a technical and/or field service position. </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office Suite </li><li>Strong communication/personal interaction skills </li><li>Strong presentation, facilitation and creative problem-solving skills </li><li>Strong planning and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to function well in a high change environment </li><li>Ability to manage workloads and prioritize requests to meet deadlines </li><li>Ability to work independently and with minimum direction </li><li>Team player </li></ul><h5>Minimum Requirements: </h5><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. </li><li>Experience or certificate in adult education preferred </li><li>General education knowledge normally acquired through a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) </li><li>2-5 years field experience operating, maintaining and troubleshooting complex systems </li></ul>
