Evaluates, recommends and supports implementation of disease control, sanitation and herd health management practices, provides examinations for cruelty and necessary documentation, provides consultation and instruction to veterinary technicians, assistants, and Resource Center staff in animal care, pre- and post-procedural care, new procedures, aseptic surgery, and related topics, supports/monitors animal care protocols for the Animal Resource Center, may performs off-hour consultations with staff regarding treatment and management of injuries, abused, neglected and diseased animals. Assists in performing forensic duties encompassing post-mortem examinations of animals including the performance of necropsies, hematology, parasitology, microbiology and clinical pathology laboratory tests and procedures, prepares and maintains a variety of records and operational reports concerning consultations and diagnostic decisions ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State and local regulations.
