The Construction Inspector oversees grading operations; conducts construction inspections of sidewalks, streets, curbs, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water mains, and other public infrastructure to ensure compliance with city ordinances, construction plans and specifications; participates in the review of engineering construction plans; acts as a liaison between contractors, city staff, and citizens; assists with emergency operations, including snow removal operations, as required. Minimum 5 years (Construction Inspector II) and minimum 7 years (Construction Inspector III) of increasingly responsible inspection experience on civil engineering related projects required Working knowledge of KDOT project requirements preferred.
