SEGUIN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT Job Description JOB TITLE: HVAC Technician WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director PAY GRADE: Auxiliary DEPT/SCHOOL: Maintenance Department DAYS EMPLOYED: 240 DATE REVISED: July 2001 PRIMARY PURPOSE: Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair District's Heating, Venting, and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred A minimum of two years experience in the HVAC field Possess a Refrigerant Recovery License Class "C" Texas Driver's License Special Knowledge/Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills Must demonstrate general knowledge of heating-ventilating-air conditioning systems Must demonstrate general knowledge and skill in construction and mechanical trades Ability to accurately interpret plans, shop drawings, and specifications MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Maintain, service, and repairs heating-ventilating-air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the district. Ability to communicate effectively Ability to read and understand directions as required, to perform assigned duties and abide by maintenance and safety procedures The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot numerous kinds and types of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment, and ice machines Physical Demands/Environment Factors: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
