The Water Systems Technician I-IV classification provides a structured career progression based on experience, water distribution certification, technical knowledge, demonstrated competency, and the ability to perform increasingly complex utility maintenance, repair, construction, troubleshooting, and emergency response activities. Regularly works around and operates heavy equipment and vehicles, including pickup trucks, dump trucks, loaders, excavators, compressors, pumps, and other construction and maintenance equipment, with exposure to loud noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and potentially hazardous materials.
