Through infection prevention, caregiver health, regulatory compliance, surveillance, exposure prevention and management, education, risk assessment, plan development and implementation, policy / procedure management, and continuous quality improvement, the division partners with operational and clinical leaders to reduce harm, strengthen regulatory readiness, and foster a culture of safety across the health system. This leader is responsible for the strategic oversight, coordination, and continuous improvement of programs that prevent and control infections, promote caregiver health and safety, and reduce the risk of disease transmission for patients, caregivers, providers, volunteers, and visitors.
