The position provides technical support in the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates, performs independent plan reviews of other's work, including both in-house designers as well as outside consultants; performs technical studies and investigations and produces resulting reports as required by the assigned department; and provides direction and instructions to Engineering Assistants, CAD Technicians, and Project Representatives. Civil Engineer III will be responsible for all of the above, along with the following: Provides professional engineering design services for the City of Amarillo including but not limited to hydraulics, water mains and sewers, pumping systems, water and wastewater treatment, water storage, water well designs, sludge handling and disposal, streets, and other roadways.
