VCU Engineering has pioneered several groundbreakingcenters, such as the Medicines for All Institute, an international leader inreducing pharmaceuticals' costs for underserved populations, and the recentlyestablished Convergence Lab, a landmark new $9 million DoD-fundedcross-disciplinary institute focused on solving pressing defense challenges forthe U.S. The college leads the Central Virginia Node of the Commonwealth CyberInitiative, a state supported engine for research, innovation andcommercialization of cybersecurity technologies. VCU Engineering’s researchcollaborations with industry, community, and academic partners regularly yieldbreakthroughs in pharmaceutical engineering; smart cities, sustainability, andclean energy; materials development; health care, regenerative medicine,rehabilitation, and medical device development; data science and bettersecurity for cyber and cyber-physical systems.
