Responsibilities:
As a Directional Drill Operator/Locator, you will support directional drilling for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.   In addition, you will: <ul><li>Locate a Horizontal Directional Driller for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable </li><li>Operate a horizontal directional bore in collaboration with the Drill Locator to successfully install coax and fiber systems </li><li>Ensure the safety of the public and other underground utility facilities </li><li>Read utility locates and coordinates the daylighting of these facilities </li><li>Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day </li></ul>

Position Overview:
The Driller bores exploratory vertical holes into the earth to evaluate soil type and strength characteristics.

Responsibilities:
 <ul><li>Act as crew chief for a drilling crew, directing and performing drilling services and well installations.</li><li>Oversee the operation of testing and drilling equipment and ensure that all equipment, including jackhammers, rigs, drill, pressure washers, etc.) are maintained, functioning properly, cleaned, and always calibrated.</li><li>Collect and conduct testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials to project specifications.</li><li>Complete and submit timely paperwork, reports, and presentations.</li><li>Communicate with dispatch, field supervisors, and other stakeholders for status reports, issues, etc.</li><li>Maintain an assigned company vehicle (schedule oil changes, check fluid levels, inside/outside upkeep).</li><li>Report to job sites on time, follow all safety protocols, and enter work time daily</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li> High school diploma with 5+ years of related experience (or similar combination). </li><li> Valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record.</li><li> Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Field Data Collection (FDC) software. </li><li> Strong time management, mathematical, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. </li><li> Able to work independently and as part of a team with a focus on producing high-quality work.</li><li> Ability to read, write, and interpret blueprints, procedures, manuals, technical documents, and reports. </li><li> OSHA 40HR HAZWOPER, CDL, or Licensed Water Well Contractor certifications a plus.</li></ul>

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
This position primarily works in an outdoor work environment, regularly exposed to varying field conditions, including:<ul><li>Sites that may not be accessible by vehicle, requiring travel on foot through wetlands, swamps, grasslands, fields, and other uneven or rugged terrain with natural and man-made obstacles such as sand, brush, and debris.</li><li>Moderate to loud noise levels, common in active construction and industrial environments.</li><li>Exposure to environmental elements including dirt, dust, sun, heat, humidity, and adverse weather conditions. The physical requirements for this position may include and are not limited to:</li><li>Ability to lift and/or carry 35 to 75 lbs. up to 75 feet, involving regular repetitive motion.</li><li>Ability to stand, walk, drive, and operate equipment for extended periods.</li><li>Frequent use of hands and arms for typing, handling tools, and operating equipment.</li><li>Ability to bend, twist, reach, stoop, pull, kneel, climb, balance, lift, carry, and push as required for fieldwork and inspections.</li><li>Ability to speak and hear effectively to communicate in noisy environments and with project teams.</li><li>Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant, and peripheral vison, depth vision, and ability to focus) smell, hear, touch (use hands to reach climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit).</li></ul>

Travel Requirements:
 This position requires extensive travel, approximately up to 70% of the time, in support of business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work.

Operates heavy transportation and construction equipment including bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, cranes, and asphalt equipment. Operating a wide variety of heavy-duty, self-propelled construction equipment for projects including building construction, roadway construction, pier construction, grading and excavation; digging around utility & installing utilities, sewer lines, water lines, storm drains, and electrical conduits. Performing minor maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Preparing operational reports on equipment. Operate rock crushing and well-drilling equipment.
