Energy Management oversees MU's district-energy combined heat and power (CHP) system, which provides utility services to more than 16 million square feet of facilities, including hospitals and clinics, a research reactor, research facilities, laboratories, academic buildings, residential halls, dining facilities, recreational and athletic facilities, computing centers, and administrative buildings. At the heart of our operations is the cutting-edge Combined Cooling, Heating, and Power Plant (CCHP), which generates steam, chilled water, and electricity to heat, cool, and energize more than 17 million square feet of academic, research, athletic, and healthcare facilities.
