Advancing journeyman lineman must possess strong leadership skills and abilities to perform daily activities without additional instruction as an Electric Distribution Troubleman to conduct daily tail board discussion of current projects, be knowledgeable of switching procedures and outage restoration, demonstrate the ability to climb poles, perform hurt man rescue by pole and from a bucket, possess a Class "A" CDL Texas Driver's License, proper use of personal protective gear, knowledge, and ability to install grounding, circuit and transformer connections, hotline handling tools and techniques, demonstrate hot bucket work, operation of all electric equipment, termination of overhead and underground conductors, voltage and transformer load calculations, basic math calculations. For both overhead and underground installations from an aerial bucket, climbing poles & ground on energized lines; assembles transformers, switches, pad mounted facilities, metering, street lighting, capacitors, and circuit switching & protection installations.
