Required Qualifications ·       3–5+ years of natural gas distribution construction experience ·       Experience with plastic and steel gas main installation and replacement ·       Experience with polyethylene (PE) pipe fusion ·       Experience operating construction equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and loaders ·       Ability to read construction drawings, blueprints, and utility plans ·       High School Diploma or equivalent ·       Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record ·       Ability to obtain or maintain Operator Qualification (OQ) certifications ·       Ability to obtain or maintain DOT Medical Card ·       Strong communication and teamwork skills ·       Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules when required Must pass: Pre-employment drug screening  Background check  Fit-for-duty medical exam Preferred Qualifications ·       Experience with HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) ·       Experience performing gas main tie-ins ·       Experience pressure testing gas mains and services ·       Experience completing full mainline and service replacement projects ·       Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) ·       Experience working for natural gas utility contractors ·       Competent Person Training in: ·       Trenching & Excavation  Confined Space Key Responsibilities Gas Distribution Construction ·       Install and replace natural gas distribution mains and service lines ·       Perform poly pipe fusion operations ·       Assist with steel and plastic pipeline installation ·       Complete mainline tie-ins and connections ·       Perform pressure testing of mains and services Equipment Operation Operate construction equipment such as: • Excavators  • Skid steers  • Loaders  • Boring and drilling equipment Assist with HDD drilling operations when required Crew Collaboration Work closely with crew members to complete projects safely and efficiently Assist with all aspects of construction including pipefitting, equipment operation, and labor Support jobsite setup, trench safety, and restoration Safety & Compliance Follow company safety policies and industry regulations Maintain Operator Qualification (OQ) certifications Ensure safe work practices around active gas lines and construction zones Work Environment This position involves outdoor construction work in varying weather conditions and active job sites. Mechanical Design Engineer - Power Distribution Equipment (Switchgear) Location: Marietta, OH Employment Type: Direct Hire Compensation: Starting at $90,000+ annually, based on experience Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of low-voltage power distribution equipment, specifically switchgear assemblies built to UL 891 standards. This role focuses on creating detailed mechanical designs that are compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with project requirements. This is a hands-on engineering position requiring prior experience with switchgear design, strong CAD capabilities, and close coordination with electrical engineering and manufacturing teams. Key Functions Engineering Design & Development <ul><li>Create mechanical layouts and detailed designs for low-voltage switchgear assemblies in compliance with UL 891 </li><li>Design enclosures, internal structures, breaker mounting systems, and cable routing solutions </li><li>Generate complete fabrication packages including general arrangement drawings, sheet metal details, weldments, and bills of materials </li></ul>Technical Coordination<ul><li>Work alongside electrical engineers to align mechanical designs with system requirements such as one-line diagrams, bus configurations, and cable management </li><li>Participate in design reviews to address spacing, interference, and maintainability considerations </li><li>Ensure all designs meet applicable codes, internal standards, and manufacturing capabilities </li></ul>Manufacturing & Production Support<ul><li>Apply design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles </li><li>Provide support during fabrication, testing, and inspection phases </li><li>Assist with resolving production issues and improving overall efficiency </li><li>Contribute to cost reduction and value engineering initiatives </li></ul>Project Ownership<ul><li>Manage design deliverables in a deadline-driven environment </li><li>Maintain accuracy and completeness of engineering documentation </li><li>Travel occasionally for project coordination or supplier support </li></ul>Required Background<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience </li><li>3-8+ years of experience designing low-voltage switchgear systems </li><li>Direct experience with UL 891 switchgear design is required </li><li>Proven ability to independently develop designs from concept through production </li></ul>Technical Knowledge<ul><li>Enclosure and structural design principles </li><li>Breaker integration and compartmentalization </li><li>Bus separation, spacing, and clearance requirements </li><li>Cable entry points, routing, and accessibility </li><li>Thermal management, ventilation, and arc containment considerations </li><li>Familiarity with UL compliance documentation and inspection processes </li></ul>Tools & Skills<ul><li>Proficiency in CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor </li><li>Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication and welded assemblies </li><li>High attention to detail with strong documentation practices </li><li>Effective communication and collaboration skills </li></ul>Performance Expectations<ul><li>Deliver accurate and compliant designs within project timelines </li><li>Ensure smooth transition from engineering to manufacturing with minimal revisions </li><li>Maintain strong coordination with internal teams </li><li>Take ownership of projects while upholding quality and regulatory standards </li></ul> Why This Role This opportunity offers the chance to work on complex electrical distribution systems in a technically focused environment.
