They oversee the receipt, storage and distribution of merchandise to Best Buy company stores, warehouses, home deliveries and shuttle deliveries. Using behavior-based coaching and feedback, the DC Area Manager ensures that job duties and responsibilities of team members are safely completed in a consistent, accurate, and productive manner. Act as a liaison between transportation and other departments and distribution centers. Oversee Freight Payment to all Domestic Carriers. </p><h5>What Will You Do? </h5><p>The Shipping Supervisor will primarily be focused on customer order building and direct to consumer shipments. This includes: </p><ul><li>Supervises assigned shipping employees in the performance of daily tasks, evaluates changing priorities in response to customer's request, reassigns resources as appropriate </li><li>Review daily consolidations to ensure proper handling of expediting requests, optimum carrier/route selection and maintenance of expected customer service information. </li><li>Level load case pick requirements to optimum levels for DC operations. </li><li>Point of contact (POC) for all operational needs – internal and external customers (will up-channel issues to the appropriate level). </li><li>Review routings to ensure proper carrier assignment. Create manual shipments/delivery due lists when appropriate. Ensure ship sure requests are processed in a timely manner. </li><li>Carrier issue management with internal and external customers. </li><li>Ensure adequate truckload capacity in trailer pools, both DC's. </li><li>Generate data and metrics for EOM/EOQ reporting. </li><li>Expedite and trace shipment(s) as necessary. </li><li>Provide directions to carriers to initiate expediting activities and determine course of action for shipments to customers which are late. </li><li>Daily Invoice Management in Blu Jay TMS System to pay for all Domestic Transportation Vendors Create reports and Spreadsheets upon request using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. </li><li>Maintains good housekeeping conditions in working areas.
