<div>Busy OB/GYN office looking to hire a friendly medical receptionist to join our team. 36-hour work week ( We close at 1 pm on Fridays.) </div><div>JOB REQUIREMENTS:</div><ul><li>Must be dependable, courteous, have the ability to multitask, and work independently.</li><li>2 years of experience at a healthcare facility in a medical receptionist role (essential).</li><li>Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD, and CPT coding (highly advantageous).</li><li>Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multitask.</li><li>Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skills.</li><li>Ability to work under pressure and react effectively to emergency situations.</li><li>Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information.</li><li>Excellent documentation, communication, and IT skills.</li><li>Passionate about healthcare excellence.</li><li>High School Diploma or Equivalent.</li><li>Must have good written and oral communication skills, and knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and office etiquette.</li><li>Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality of all doctors, staff, and patients.</li><li>Athena EHR or OB/GYN experience is a plus.</li></ul><div> ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</div><ul><li>Answers multi-line phone system in a courteous, professional, and expedient manner.</li><li>Verify/update all demographic information.</li><li>Courteously and efficiently interviews patients and schedules appointments for all providers, and creates a scheduled encounter associated with each patient appointment following the template approved by each provider.</li><li>Ensure proper payment for services is obtained through the identification of insurance plan information.</li><li>Takes and relays messages in an accurate and timely manner.</li><li>Reacts to emergency and urgent calls from patients in a timely manner.</li><li>Able to manage the workflow of the department/location assigned.</li><li>Acts as liaison between physician’s office/patient/ insurance company.</li><li>Prepares and processes all referral paperwork.</li><li>To complete referrals, gather pertinent information from physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff.</li><li>Contacts various offices/facilities to obtain the necessary information for completing referrals.</li><li>Maintains referral records and files documentation.</li><li>Responds to patient inquiries regarding referrals. </li><li>Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests while operating within HIPAA regulations</li><li>Check patients out and schedule follow-up appointments.</li><li>Performs clerical duties as assigned to maintain workflow in the department.</li><li>Scan necessary documents into EMR.</li><li>Follow all office protocols.</li><li>Assist trainers in training new hires.</li><li>Keep the front desk and surrounding areas well-organized and clean.</li><li>Ensures patient flow is maintained and immediately informs the supervisor of any department and patient issues.</li><li>Assists in other areas within the office and accepts such other duties as may be required when necessary. </li></ul><div>This is a fast-paced position that can get stressful at times. The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure while maintaining excellent customer service is a must. Salary will depend on medical office experience.
