Job Title: Designer and Drafter - Electrical (Revit/BIM) Job Description This role focuses on preparing high-quality electrical drawings and construction documents using Revit (BIM) for building projects. You will collaborate closely with electrical engineers and other design disciplines to develop coordinated, accurate, and well-organized documents that support all phases of design and construction. Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare detailed electrical drawings and construction documents using Revit (BIM) for building projects. </li><li>Assist electrical engineers with the design and layout of power distribution systems, including switchboards and switchgear. </li><li>Support the design and layout of lighting and lighting control systems for various building types. </li><li>Contribute to the design and layout of emergency and standby power systems. </li><li>Assist with the design and layout of fire alarm and low-voltage systems, including access control where applicable. </li><li>Develop plans, schedules, details, and diagrams from engineering concepts, sketches, and redlines. </li><li>Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural disciplines to ensure fully integrated building systems. </li><li>Revise and update drawings throughout all phases of design and construction document production based on feedback and design changes. </li><li>Support QA/QC standards and ensure that all drawings meet firm and project requirements for accuracy, clarity, and consistency. </li><li>Participate in coordination and design review meetings as needed to resolve design issues and maintain project alignment. </li><li>Organize drawing sets and maintain clear documentation to support efficient project delivery. </li><li>Manage multiple drafting and design tasks simultaneously while meeting established project deadlines. </li></ul>Essential Skills<ul><li>Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent field experience. </li><li>At least 2 years of experience in electrical drafting and design for buildings. </li><li>Proficiency in Revit for electrical design and drafting (required). </li><li>Understanding of electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency power, and low-voltage systems. </li><li>Ability to interpret and produce construction documents with a strong focus on accuracy. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and drawing organization to maintain clear and consistent documentation. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work to meet project deadlines. </li><li>Effective collaboration skills for coordinating with engineers and other design disciplines. </li></ul>Additional Skills & Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with AutoCAD for electrical and mechanical design is a plus. </li><li>Familiarity with fire alarm system design and documentation. </li><li>Knowledge of access control and other low-voltage systems in building environments. </li><li>Exposure to short circuit studies or related electrical analysis is beneficial. </li><li>Experience coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, architectural, and structural teams. </li><li>Comfort working in a technology-driven, forward-thinking design environment. </li></ul>Work Environment This position typically follows a 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule in an office-based, cubicle-style setup.
