Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced CAD Operator to join our Land Development team in Bryan-College Station, Texas (TX)!

Responsibilities:
<ul><li>This individual will primarily be responsible for: designing and producing sets of plans for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential Land Development projects; and implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards</li><li>This person will develop technical drawings and plans using CAD software </li><li>The person in this position will make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform some multifaceted calculations</li><li>Requires minimal supervision to perform day to day tasks</li><li>Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes</li><li>Maintains drawing database</li><li>May supervise and train CAD staff</li><li>Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control</li><li>Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards</li></ul>

Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred)</li><li>3+ years of relevant experience</li><li>Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products</li><li>Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter</li><li>Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn</li><li>Ability to work independently and with a team</li></ul>

Working as a team player with a group of technicians and designers of various levels and disciplines-process, structural, mechanical, and electrical-along with Project Leaders and design teams to execute projects and develop detailed design drawings.

As a member of our growing Water Design team, the Structural Designer will be responsible for developing and detailing Revit 3D models and construction drawings for water and wastewater facilities projects. This role collaborates closely with structural engineers and multidisciplinary teams to support the design and delivery of treatment plants, pump stations, and related facilities.This role in the Water Design Center is one that is central to project delivery through our many offices and utilizes the latest BIM technology, predominantly Revit software, to produce high-quality structural models and drawings. Typical projects include reinforced concrete basins, tanks, process structures, equipment foundations, and building structures within water and wastewater treatment facilities.Primary Responsibilities of the Structural Designer will include:<ul><li>Develop and maintain structural Revit 3D models with moderate to high autonomy.</li><li>Prepare plans, sections, and detailed structural drawings for concrete, steel, and masonry systems.</li><li>Assist in model coordination and clash detection using BIM tools.</li><li>Produce construction documents in coordination with engineers and project teams.</li><li>Incorporate field data, redlines, and as-built information into models and drawings.</li></ul>Working as a team player with a group of technicians and designers of various levels and disciplines-process, structural, mechanical, and electrical-along with Project Leaders and design teams to execute projects and develop detailed design drawings.<ul><li>Arranging necessary resources for file sharing and communication to effectively share design files across the company or with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors.</li><li>Maintaining strong communication with engineers and project managers to ensure timely delivery of projects and avoid any potential project conflicts.</li><li>Quality program compliance, including QA/QC, to ensure all projects adhere to company standards.</li></ul>Due to the collaborative nature of coordination using BIM tools, candidates must have the ability to seek out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team members. In addition, the candidate must be able to maintain a positive team attitude and interpersonal effectiveness to foster and maintain an efficient and productive team.About Garvers Water Design Center
