Civil Designer I Lincoln, NE (Onsite) Full-Time | Permanent Overview We are seeking a Civil Designer I to support land development and civil infrastructure projects in a collaborative engineering environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level designer or engineering technician looking to build hands-on experience in civil site design, grading, utilities, stormwater systems, and roadway projects. This role will work closely with experienced engineers and project teams to develop construction drawings, assist with design documentation, and support projects from concept through permitting and execution. Candidates with experience or coursework in Civil 3D, drafting, and land development design are strongly encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Civil Design & Drafting Prepare and modify civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D Assist with the design of: Site development plans Grading and drainage systems Water and sewer utilities Stormwater management systems Roadway and paving layouts Municipal and on-site wastewater systems Transform conceptual sketches and engineering markups into detailed construction documents Support the creation and maintenance of TIN surfaces, alignments, profiles, and grading models Project Support Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and senior designers on land development projects Assist with quantity calculations, plan preparation, and technical documentation Help ensure designs meet local, state, and client standards Coordinate with internal teams, agencies, and consultants as needed Support permitting and plan review processes Team & Professional Development Learn company drafting standards, workflows, and best practices Work under the mentorship of senior engineering staff Participate in a team-oriented environment focused on growth and technical development Qualifications Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Proficiency or coursework in AutoCAD Civil 3D Understanding of construction plans and civil drafting principles Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Ability to work effectively in a collaborative office environment Preferred Associate’s degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field Internship, co-op, or drafting experience within civil engineering or land development Exposure to: Grading and drainage design Utility layouts Roadway plans 3D surfaces and TIN modeling Bentley or other civil engineering software platforms What the Client is Looking For Someone eager to grow within civil engineering and land development Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn from senior staff Familiarity with Civil 3D and construction plan development Detail-oriented mindset with good communication skills Team player who can support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Compensation & Benefits The company offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that may include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and paid holidays Tuition reimbursement and professional development support Bonus potential and employee incentive programs Employee wellness and assistance programs Work Environment Fully onsite office environment in Lincoln, NE Collaborative engineering and design team setting Primarily desk and computer-based work using drafting and design software Occasional lifting or movement of materials up to 20 pounds
