About the Positions We are seeking CEI Inspectors at various levels, including CEI Inspector Aid and CEI Inspector I, to provide Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) services for transportation projects located in the state of Georgia. The level of the position will be dependent upon the selected finalist's background and expertise.This posting is for future roles and not for a specific opportunity that is available right now. We accept applications and conduct interviews in advance of upcoming hiring needs. When a candidate is selected, their profile is activated in our talent pool for this specialty area. We notify our talent pool candidates first whenever we have a project need. This posting targets various counties in the state of Georgia. Training materials will be provided to obtain the required certifications. We're also currently seeking candidates located between Macon and Savannah, east of Valdosta and southwest of Augusta, GA.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The following responsibilities are examples only and represent an Inspector Aid level finalist. These responsibilities will become increasingly more complex, and additional duties could be added if an Inspector I finalist is selected. Confirmation will be discussed with selected finalists.  <ul><li>Will perform a range of routine and standardized work including manual and/or electronic calculations, computations, and inspections of construction processes and materials to assure compliance with the construction contract.  </li><li>Will inspect truck load tickets for roadway aggregate base course; borrow material and asphaltic concrete at project field sites. </li><li>Will perform a variety of simple materials sampling, inspection and/or testing. </li><li>Will perform contract administrative duties, which may include field measurements of pay item quantities, project close-out, as well as other Department required documentation. </li><li>May be required to use a number of different pieces of equipment such as Slump Cone, Air Meter, Measuring Wheel/Tape, Thermometer, etc. Incumbents will be fully trained in the use of equipment necessary to accomplish their work. </li><li>May be required to work at remote sites around construction equipment, drilling rigs, explosives and environmental contamination. </li></ul>Attributes <ul><li>Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Possess excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills. </li><li>Possess excellent collaboration skills. </li></ul>The following minimum and preferred requirements and certifications represent an Inspector Aid level finalist. There may be additional minimum and preferred requirements and certifications if an Inspector I finalist is selected. Confirmation will be discussed with selected finalists.  Minimum Requirements <ul><li>High School Diploma or GED. </li><li>General knowledge of mathematical functions. </li><li>Skill in the use of office equipment such as calculators. </li><li>Ability to learn and interpret such things as construction plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures. </li><li>Must be licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with Georgia Law. </li><li>Proficiency with computers (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Outlook, internet, etc.).</li></ul>Required Certifications Please Note: For titles containing GDOT certifications or passing scores on Engineering Skills Development Tests, certifications and passing scores must be obtained within six (6) months of beginning work on the GDOT project. Certifications from other agencies or states may possibly be substituted. <ul><li>GDOT WECS.  </li><li>GDOT Field Concrete Technician Certification.  </li><li>GSWCC Level 1a (Erosion Control).  </li><li>Passing scores on GDOT's Construction Engineering Inspection Training tests – Group 1 (General Provisions, Auxiliary Items, Basic Highway Math, Basic Highway Plan Reading).  </li></ul>Compensation Details Expected Salary: $35k-$50k/year ($16-$24/hour). What You'll Do:
 ECS Limited is seeking an experienced engineering leader to manage our Geotechnical and Materials Testing teams in Macon or Marietta, Georgia. As the Group Manager, you will lead project delivery, technical quality, safety, staff development, and client growth across geotechnical and construction materials testing services. If you like being equal parts technical mentor, operational leader, and client partner, this role puts you in the middle of the action.<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Manage multidisciplinary projects across geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing, from proposal through closeout.</li><li>Provide oversight and expert mentorship on construction materials field testing and evaluation, including cone penetration testing (CPT), in-situ testing, laboratory testing coordination, post-tensioning observation/testing, and soil sampling and classification.</li><li>Review geotechnical and/or materials testing reports for customer submittal, including conclusions, recommendations, and compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.</li><li>Assemble and lead project teams, set expectations, and guide execution through the full project lifecycle.</li><li>Oversee project financials, resource allocation, schedules, and deliverables to meet scope, quality, and margin targets.</li><li>Maintain quality control processes, ensure adherence to safety standards, and reinforce engineering best practices across field and office operations.</li><li>Perform technical review of engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications as needed to support geotechnical recommendations and construction-related decisions.</li><li>Support and guide field operations and troubleshooting, including coordination with drilling, subcontractors, laboratories, and client teams.</li><li>Pursue new business through networking, proposals, and ongoing client relationship management, with a focus on repeatable work and long-term partnerships.</li><li>Manage branch-level operational responsibilities including budgets, forecasting, hiring, performance coaching, and training plans.</li><li>Promote company values, a positive culture, and high employee engagement through clear communication and consistent leadership.</li></ul>

What We're Looking For:
Required Experience & Skills: <ul><li> 8+ years of experience supporting geotechnical or construction materials testing services, including including leadership responsibilty for projects and teams</li><li>Proven experience overseeing field testing and lab coordination for CMT and soils, with working knowledge of applicable methods and industry standards</li><li> Demonstrated ability to review technical reports and client deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and professional judgement</li><li> Strong business acumen with departmental P&L experience</li><li> Excellent project management and organizational abilities</li><li> Committed to safety and engineering excellence</li></ul>Required Education & Certifications: <ul><li> BS in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited college/university</li></ul>Preferred Education & Certifications: <ul><li> MS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university with a concentration in geotechnical engineering</li><li> Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)</li></ul>
