Work Environment: The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II ensures electrode application in adherence with the International 10-20 system; is knowledgeable in EEG performance and recognition of clinically significant events and follows facility policy and procedures regarding critical test results; maintains the patient safety in communication to other patient care support staff during EEG if needed; continues to learn and apply basic and intermediate EEG waveform recognition, relevant medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, current HIPPA practices, contraindications for activation procedures, instrumentation and preparation for use; performs patient assessment as related to care such as electrode fixation, product allergies, movement restrictions, and cognitive functions, knows and recognizes drug and physiological status effects on activity monitored.
