p>Must be able to: • Safely operate various types of motor vehicles during road performance tests while identifying hazards, applying proper driving techniques, and using vehicle safety features • Evaluate applicant driving performance using established testing procedures and makes accurate pass/fail determinations, including acting quickly and calmly in emergency situations • Understand, apply, and explain applicable motor vehicle laws, ordinances, regulations, and traffic safety principles to ensure consistent and legally defensible licensing decisions • Communicate clearly and tactfully with the public by giving oral instructions, explaining test results, and maintaining control of the testing process and related records. This position is responsible for administering written and visual acuity tests and conducting road performance tests to determine applicant eligibility for motor vehicle driver license categories 1 through 3.
