Duties and Responsibilities: Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck,• Properly track and document activity log,• Report any issues or incidents to dispatch,• Inspect truck before and after trip,• Clean out bed of the truck at the end of the shift to prevent build up from piling up,• Provide hands-on support for crew as needed,• Daily pre-shift vehicle and equipment inspections; maintain daily log,• Inspect, clean and perform minor repairs to equipment using hand tools and or report malfunctions to supervisors,• Work in areas of uneven terrain, • Assist in the training of new or less skilled drivers,• Ability to perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, dumping, snow plowing and salt roadways, • Must wear proper attire at all times including all PPE,• Required to work extended hours including nights and weekends, • Additional duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds continuously throughout the workday,• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,• This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces,• This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time and the constant use of hands and arms,• This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (e.g., glasses, contact lenses),• Performing strenuous work for extended periods in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, and other inclement weather conditions,• Work may be performed in environments with exposure to extremely hot materials, fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and moving equipment.
