A cultural-historical course in an area of the candidate's specialization (e.g., the ancient Maya, Caribbean archaeology, the archaeology of the Arctic, the Pacific Northwest, Mississippian culture, the US Southwest, the Amazon, etc.) Ideally this would not replicate regular offerings in the Andes, but may focus on other aspects of South American archaeology or any aspect of North American archaeology A thematic/theoretical course with a global remit (e.g., ancient cities, empires, writing systems, colonialism, etc.). While the candidate will be based in the Archaeology Program, we are particularly interested in candidates whose courses would also be appropriate contributions to (some of) the following departments and programs: • Sociology and Anthropology • American Studies • Latin American Studies • History • Environmental Studies • Digital Arts and Humanities.
