Duties/Responsibilities: • Actively engage students in the learning process • Maintain ethical and professional behavior • Maintain knowledge of and adherence to the policies and procedures contained in the TSUS and LIT Policies and Procedures Manual • Participate in college service, which includes but is not limited to, committee work, advising and/or tutoring students, and recruiting • Teach classes during the fall and spring semesters as required by the department (might include day, evening, weekend, and Early College High School/dual credit); including online courses • Provide mentorship to dual credit partners/mentees • Attend Teaching and Learning Center sessions to enhance teaching skills • Stay abreast of national matters and trends in education • Participate in assessment activities for the LIT Core Curriculum • Assist in the development of curriculum as needed • Perform other related duties, as required. Minimum Qualifications: • Associate degree or diploma in automotive/diesel Technology, or specialized/related training with an emphasis on demonstrated competency and achievement • Demonstrated recent industry experience (within 5 years) with a strong background in electrical/electronics, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, automatic transmission, engines, and powertrains in the automotive and/or diesel industry • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications • Knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies • Possess good verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work well in a team environment • Possess good time management skills.
