Perform daily maintenance tasks and troubleshooting of packaging and production equipment and systems, including: extruder, dryers, high speed packaging including cartoners, baggers, case-packers, palletizers, low pressure boilers, thermal fluid process heaters, material handling systems, water chillers, compressed air systems, and HVAC systems Partner with operations and maintenance teams to solve repetitive problems, complete preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance responsibilities in a safe, effective, and compliant manner Partner with operations to learn operating systems, while providing training on mechanical components Train operations staff on operating systems and operator basic care responsibilities Responsible for taking necessary action on all food safety and quality problems reported or observed Other duties, as assigned Education & Experience Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution and one or more of the following: Two-year Associates Degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.) Completed apprenticeship in mechanic, mechanical maintenance, or electro-mechanical, electrical, or related field Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 2+ years hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation role 1+ years’ experience as operator in a food manufacturing facility. Possession of valid Oregon millwright manufacturing card/license Previous maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility Previous experience reading blueprints and schematics Previous experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding Previous experience with power transmission components; belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears Previous experience with drill presses, lathes, Bridgeport-type mills Experience with operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts.
