Expectations include personnel management, orientation, goal setting, scheduling, compliance with accreditation agencies which includes; the College of American Pathologists, Food and Drug Administration, Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies, New York State, Joint Commission, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency, budget input, succession planning, teaching, communication, policies and procedure management, cost management, staff development and outstanding customer service skills. A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant science field (chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology), along with specific training and experience in high complexity testing or in an appropriate Clinical or Anatomic Laboratory.
