Provide nursing assessments and interventions for students who are ill or injured during the school day • Administer medications and health procedures in accordance with physician orders, school protocols, and Louisiana law • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with medical needs • Support students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, allergies) to ensure safe participation in instructional and extracurricular activities • Responsibility for stocking and maintaining emergency medications and related protocols (i.e. epinephrine & use protocol, EMS activation protocol, etc). • Collaborate with families, educators, administrators, and Student Services staff to support student health and access to instruction • Participate in IEP, Section 504, School Building Level Committee (SBLC), and Student Support Team meetings as appropriate • Serve as a liaison between the school, families, healthcare providers, and community health agencies • Support the development and implementation of health-related accommodations and services.
