The role directly supervises ERT Leads and ERT Technicians — staffing, training, qualification, performance, and readiness — and owns the site emergency response program, including the Emergency Action Plan, fire brigade, HAZWOPER, respiratory protection, and rescue programs. Must meet all conditions required for SCBA use: pass the medical evaluation required by 29 CFR 1910.134(e), pass fit testing at hire and annually thereafter under 29 CFR 1910.134(f), and maintain a clean-shaven respirator sealing surface as required by 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i).
