PURPOSE OF POSITION: Paramedics perform public safety work involving the protection of life and property by responding to emergency incidents, using Emergency Medical Services (EMS) skills, that include, but are not limited to providing Advanced Life Support, engaging in public education, hazardous materials and technical rescue operations including station and equipment activities. The Paramedic will need to lift and carry along with one team member, adult patients, lifting them from various positions, such as a bed or chair, onto various movement devices, such as an ambulance cot stair chair, long boards, etc., and then efficiently move them into an ambulance.
