The position's duties are primarily clinical, with opportunities for clinical research. Educational opportunities are available in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Kansas Medical School in Wichita, with a chance for a clinical academic rank. The ideal candidate will have an interest in both endocrinology and diabetes.The patient population is diverse in this busy practice, which draws from a large region in western Kansas. Our physicians also participate in outreach clinics in surrounding western Kansas cities. Inpatient care at three community hospitals in Wichita is managed by hospitalists and pediatric intensivists, with endocrinologists serving as consultants. The electronic health record in the outpatient clinics is part of the Children's Mercy integrated network.Teleconferencing allows for participation in Children's Mercy educational activities and conferences.
