This remote position will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 9-12 through our virtual learning platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the English language, literature, composition, and communication skills, excellent communication and technology skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and supportive online learning environment. Responsibilities include curriculum implementation, assessment, individualized support, and collaboration to ensure student success.  Essential Duties<ul><li>Deliver engaging and interactive live virtual lessons aligned with the Texas State Standards for English Language Arts for grades 9-12.</li><li>Utilize a variety of online teaching methodologies, resources, and technologies to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.</li><li>Develop and deliver asynchronous learning activities, including interactive assignments, projects, discussions, and writing prompts.</li><li>Provide clear and timely feedback on student work to promote understanding and growth in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.</li><li>Facilitate small group instruction and provide individualized support to students as needed.</li><li>Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and progress.</li><li>Implement the Stellar Virtual English Language Arts curriculum effectively and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.</li><li>Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student learning and inform instruction in areas such as reading comprehension, literary analysis, grammar, mechanics, and composition.</li><li>Analyze student data to identify learning gaps and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.</li><li>Collaborate with curriculum specialists and other teachers to enhance the English Language Arts curriculum.</li><li>Support on-site testing events periodically throughout the year (required).</li><li>Participate in virtual professional development and collaborate with colleagues on online teaching best practices.</li><li>Work collaboratively with student support services (e.g., counselors, special education) to address student needs.</li><li>Attend virtual staff meetings and contribute to the overall success of Stellar Virtual.</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills & Attributes<ul><li>Minimum of two (2) years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting.</li><li>Experience teaching a range of secondary English Language Arts courses (e.g., English 9-12, Literature, Composition, Grammar).</li><li>Demonstrated experience in utilizing online learning platforms and educational technology tools.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills.</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.   </li><li>Passion for working with students and fostering their academic growth in language and literacy.</li><li>Residency in the state of Texas is required.</li></ul>Education & Certification Requirements<ul><li>A bachelor's degree in English, English Education, Literature, or a related field.</li><li>A valid teaching license in English, grades 6-12 or 7-12.
