In order to qualify for an IT Specialist (Data Science),GS-2210 position at the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector typically gained in the IT field or through performing IT related tasks such as: collecting and generating data, including assisting with the design or use of surveys or other scientific instruments to collect data; curating and processing data, including performing quality checks on data sets and other information sources to identify and address data issues; preparing or supporting the dissemination of data; identifying and resolving routine data performance and management issues; storing and managing high-quality data from diverse sources for use by decision makers; and analyzing comprehensive data sets using statistical software or programming languages (e.g., R, Python) to meet established business or program requirements.
