The Environmental Services Technician will strive to provide proficient, competent care while maintaining the patient's sense of comfort and dignity. Responsibilities for the Environmental Services Technician<ol><li>Ensuring that contaminated waste products are securely stored, and storage areas are always locked. </li><li> Cleaning and sanitizing floors, equipment, and furniture according to infection‐control policies. </li><li> Dusting furniture, woodwork and equipment and dust‐mops floors. Polishing and cleaning fixtures in rooms and bathrooms. Wet‐mops rooms, halls, and other areas; shampooing rugs and furniture. </li><li> Knowing proper use, operation, and care of equipment; reporting any needed repairs and/or safety hazards to manager.</li><li> Operating mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers, shampooers, and related environmental service equipment.</li><li> Cleaning vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder. </li><li> Gathering and disposing of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers per established procedures. </li><li> Moving furniture and other heavy objects as required.</li><li> Performing terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants; follows isolation procedures in isolation rooms. </li><li> Cleaning and disinfecting all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.</li><li> Making supply packs and putting linen stacks in carts for distribution.
